Tell us a bit about your background?
My name is Misbah Arshad, and I am 25 years old. Currently, I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Hagen. Before deciding to embark on the field of psychology, I initially studied computer science. However, I soon realized that my true passion lay in working with people, nurturing my emotional and creative aspects, rather than focusing solely on the analytical side. Before pursuing psychology, I actively followed another passion of mine, acting, and attended the ISSA acting school.
I reside with my family in the heart of Bavaria, Munich. Although Munich is predominantly known for its lively beer culture and Oktoberfest, the city offers much more – a wealth of diversity, rich culture, and most importantly, robust support for individuals like myself who hold strong ambitions. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have grown up in a city that provides such opportunities and encouragement.
About 20 years ago, my parents made the decision to move to Germany, seeking a fresh start in a new country. Originally, my entire family hails from Punjab. The values my parents brought with them from Pakistan include ambition, loyalty, and sustainability, which they instilled in us. Consequently, I have always been dedicated to hard work and driven to enhance myself in every possible way. During my free time, I enjoy acquiring new skills and refining existing ones. Additionally, I have a fondness for playing tennis and am currently learning to play the ukulele. One of my primary interests lies in meeting people from different cultures, with the aim of understanding and learning from them.
What made you join Miss Pakistan World?
I joined Miss Pakistan World to broaden my horizons and develop as a woman and an individual. Especially with pageants like this, you have the opportunity to challenge yourself and grow in all areas of life because a lot is expected of you. For instance, I have learned to understand my body and its needs better by acquiring knowledge about nutrients and how to maintain fitness and health. Furthermore, a comprehensive understanding of the world is expected, which has also deepened my interest in areas such as politics. Additionally, I feel a strong sense of pride in representing my country, Pakistan, on the international stage. It has connected me even more deeply to my homeland and its people. This experience not only gives me a sense of belonging but also the feeling of being able to make a difference and contribute to positive change.
How does it feel to be the current Miss Pakistan World 2023?
For me, this experience is incredibly special and fills me with a profound sense of pride. It brings together two of my greatest passions: being on stage and representing my home country. Pakistan is home to numerous incredible individuals and beauties, and being a representative of such a nation fills me with immense gratitude and, at the same time, a profound awareness of the weighty responsibility that comes with it. This responsibility extends towards Pakistanis, Pakistan as a whole, and its future.
What is your educational background?
I am currently studying psychology and aspire to work as a therapist for children and adolescents in the future. Additionally, I plan to establish my own practice where I can gain practical experience in understanding the emotional aspects of human beings and offer assistance based on my knowledge. Another one of my goals is to pursue a career in acting and participate in roles and narratives that contribute to the advancement of humanity. Regardless of the path I choose, my career aspirations are centered around finding fulfillment and fostering both intellectual and spiritual growth within myself.
Are you looking forward for the representation in international pageants for Pakistan?
As Miss Pakistan World 2023, I am extremely excited to represent Pakistan on an international stage. This opportunity fills me with pride and motivates me to become the best version of myself. I want to showcase to the world how open-minded and progressive we Pakistanis can be, demonstrating that we are indeed evolving.
There are many young Pakistani girls interested in pageants, what advice would you give them?
The advice I would give to Pakistani girls is that we can achieve great heights, but we need to believe in ourselves and treat ourselves and our surroundings with fairness. Being feminine and simultaneously self-determined is a strength that will empower us women to attain our goals. Remarkable accomplishments don’t require us to be like men; as women, we possess unique abilities that we should nurture, and this is precisely what pageants aim to promote. These opportunities provide women with the confidence to embrace both their femininity and their self-determination.
What charity would you like to support in Pakistan?
Since poverty and inadequate childhoods for children are some of the primary issues in Pakistan, and because I deeply care about children’s well-being, as Miss Pakistan World, I aspire to support charities that are dedicated to addressing and alleviating this crucial problem.
