Tell us a little bit about your background.

Originally from Saudi Arabia but with a strong affinity for Pakistan, I’ve traversed various cultures before settling in the UK. My upbringing in a supportive family environment has been instrumental in shaping my journey. Grateful for the blessings of Allah, I credit much of my accomplishments to their guidance.

With a foundation in media studies from esteemed institutions like RADA and UAL in London, my academic pursuits have equipped me with the necessary skills for my professional endeavours.

My identity is deeply intertwined with my cultural roots, particularly from Lahore, Punjab. Embracing my Punjabi heritage, I’ve recently honed my linguistic prowess in the Punjabi language, further enriching my connection to my origins.

What is your profession?

I run my own business, balancing two distinct streams of work. One involves providing swimming instruction, while the other entails freelance work for a movie production company based at Pinewood Studios.

You are interested in acting, what are your plans for your acting career?

Acting remains my ultimate passion, drawing me back regardless of the field I explore. However, residing in the UK presented challenges, including geographical distance and uncertainty about breaking into the media industry.

I’m particularly intrigued by the British Asian media landscape and aspire to delve into its various genres, eager to explore the opportunities it offers.

How does it feel to be the next Miss Pakistan universal?

Alhamdulillah, it feels surreal, like stepping into a fairy tale. Winning this esteemed title is a profound honor. Beyond the glamour, it’s about wielding a voice that can positively impact lives.

For me, being Miss Pakistan Universal transcends mere beauty—it’s a platform to spark meaningful discussions and incite action by shedding light on pressing issues. I’m determined to empower young women trapped within outdated societal norms, particularly those constrained by restrictive cultural interpretations disguised as Islamic principles. My goal is to foster an environment where creativity flourishes within the framework of Islamic values, offering support and liberation to those stifled by antiquated beliefs.

What made you want to be part of pageantry?

Honestly, participating in pageantry was never in my plans. It was purely by chance that I stumbled upon an article about it while scrolling through my Asian social media feeds. Nevertheless, I see pageantry as a fantastic avenue for young Pakistani women to display their talents and express themselves.

I feel fortunate to have seized this opportunity, as it allows me to channel my creativity and make a positive impact through the media.

How are you preparing for the Pageant?

It’s a meticulous process that requires efficient organization. I’ve been busy arranging photo shoots and curating my wardrobe for upcoming events, alongside attending interviews as part of my preparation journey. While it’s been a whirlwind ride from the start, it’s also been immensely enjoyable.

To ensure I’m at my best for the beauty pageant, I’ve amped up my workout routines, hitting the gym more regularly and adding extra laps in the swimming pool. Coupled with maintaining a healthy diet, this regimen is geared towards achieving optimal fitness. Additionally, I’ve focused on refining my posture, recognizing its significance in the pageant arena.

What are your plans after your ceremony?

My plans are to network effectively in the Pakistan’s media industry. I would like to leverage the visibility obtained via the pageant in a good way to promote worthwhile ideas and initiatives. For example, because of the pageant and ensuing ceremony I would avail the opportunity to meet wonderful creative people.

In addition, I plan to explore any openings in the Pakistani media which would be acting roles of interest to me and my ambition. After the pageant ceremony, because of increased visibility obtained, I will try to use my title positively for media roles. The pageant puts one in the spotlight, and I will use that in an effective way to pursue creative work which can stimulate debate and make people aware of the current social issues impacting their lives directly and indirectly.

As Miss Pakistan, what charities will you be supporting?  What is your advocacy?

I wish to support those charities which promote well-being for domestically abused women and innocent children who are marginalised and victimised as a result. I feel that the suffering of the vulnerable youth should be our prime focus of attention and in order to combat this effectively, education is essential. It is a universally accepted truth that youth are our precious assets, for the future.

Being a philanthropist, I have volunteered in London with some charitable organisations, and this is part of my intrinsic nature.

What advice do you have for other contestants?

The key advice is that one should be true to oneself and not live up to the expectations of others. It is vital to have a positive mindset coupled with the skills of being a multitasker.  Ultimately one should apply their best efforts to the pageant, giving 100% of their abilities and resources, reinforced with unconditional faith in almighty God.

Further, I would advise other contestants to pursue those interests and charitable activities that they are passionate about. As a final point, it is vital to always be professional and be aware of one’s rights, responsibilities and boundaries.
