Article, by Sonia Ahmed- President of Miss Pakistan World
In my 20 years of being the founder of Pakistan’s Pageants, I always find that the only successful girl is a girl who works hard, represents Pakistan internationally and maintains a strong relationship with the organization of Miss Pakistan World.
Since 2020, a lot of pageant companies saw a decline whereas the Miss Pakistan World organization saw a tremendous increase in its followers. The reason for that was the undivided attention from Pakistan. For almost 18 years, we have operated from Toronto, Canada and this was a first for us to operate from Lahore, Pakistan. As the President of Miss Pakistan World, it was a fun experience and it was exciting to navigate in Lahore, Pakistan. We got applications from Pakistan and this time, we decided on holding the event virtual by choosing a Miss Pakistan World in Pakistan!
Areej Chaudhary, Miss Pakistan World 2020, was chosen during the pandemic and became the first girl to be crowned on the soil of Pakistan. She also became the first girl from Pakistan to participate in the first virtual Miss Earth 2020 competition. She not only participated in this contest but she did so from Islamabad and Lahore, two major cities of Pakistan. We had teams from both Islamabad and Lahore, participated in this massive production. When someone uses the resources available, and avails all the best possibilities by being positive and having a positive outlook to any situation, then that girl is what we want as our representative!
For a Miss Pakistan to be successful, she needs to successful wherever she is, and make use of whatever resources available. We are in the midst of a pandemic, but we had our plates full, and we did so much work. From creating Pakistan’s first trans beauty queen to non-stop media and then doing chairty work in Pakistan. All proved to be very successful events and hence the girl who is crowned Miss Pakistan, becomes a Miss Pakistan only after her year is over by doing all the great work that she can do! So hats off to these girls working hard and representing!
