Miss Pakistan World 2020, Areej Chaudhary
Islamabad based; Areej Chaudhary is the newly crowned Miss Pakistan World 2020. She is the first girl to be chosen from Pakistan directly after 17 years. At age 24, Areej is all set to represent Pakistan in various international pageants.
The past two weeks Areej has begun her charity work with various charities in Pakistan. She visited the JFK Animal Rescue & Shelter in Lahore; Pakistan and she is now an ambassador of JFK Animal Rescue & Shelter and will continue her work in creating awareness for animal abuse in Pakistan. Her next visit was to a Madrassah in Lahore, where she along with the current Mr. Pakistan World 2020, Kevaan Hasnain distributed cookies, candies, crayons, coloring books and some toys to lighten the mood of the children of the Madrassah. In the coming months, the main aim for Miss Pakistan World 2020, is to visit as many Madrassahs as possible in order to meet the children who study there.
She extended her visit to the Qaid-E-Azam International Hospital in Islamabad, which is known for its state-of-the-art facilities where she visited some of the critically ill patients. Chaudhary is scheduled to visit more NGO’s in the comes weeks.
When asked about why she participated in the Miss Pakistan World 2020 pageant, she stated, “I wanted to reveal the significance of Pakistani culture, beauty and intellect on an international platform and I wanted to become a symbol of motivation and inspiration for every woman in Pakistan. I also wanted to set an example of an ideal Miss Pakistan World to make every woman believe in themselves and to break the barriers and stereotypes that have been set by society.”
Further on, she added, “Miss Pakistan World is a platform through which every Pakistani woman can have the opportunity of bringing their talent out on an global platform by competing in international pageants and interacting with different cultures and countries. This gives Pakistan an opportunity to bond with other countries and know about their cultures as well. Participating in international pageants is not only about the beauty contest but also about winning hearts. I want to become the voice of voiceless and as a human being I love to do charity work for the under privileged in Pakistan.”
Sonia Ahmed, President of Miss Pakistan World stated, “This is the first time, a girl from Pakistan has been crowned on the soil of Pakistan. This is a first win for us in 17 years as we always wanted a girl from Pakistan to become part of Miss Pakistan World. We are thankful and happy that Areej Chaudhary was a finalist and finally the winner. In times of Covid-19, she is making use of her time to visit orphanages, animal shelters, hospitals and madrassahs to meet children, donate and help out as much as she can. This will be an interesting journey for our team and we are excited to see the warm response of Pakistan. A lot of fun things are planned out for the coming year!”
