Freshly crowned Miss Pakistan Universal 2023, Dr. Kapotaqkhy Chanchala, is all set to represent Pakistan in the inaugural tourism pageant in Sri Lanka, Miss World Tourism 2023.

Tourism State Minister Diana Gamage stated in Colombo last week that Miss World Tourism 2023, scheduled to occur in Sri Lanka from July 20th to 30th, will feature participants from 40 countries. Some of these participants have limited knowledge about the country and might not have visited it if not for the forthcoming tourism event.

“These countries will send their most exquisite representatives to compete for the coveted crown in the competition. The Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Promotion Bureau are collaborating closely during this historic 11-day extravaganza to create an awe-inspiring spectacle for visitors. All those attending are global travel influencers, the new central figures in tourism promotion. Sri Lanka will benefit significantly from the captivating content they produce, which will help showcase our destination to their fan bases,” she explained.

Radika Gunawardhana, a former Mrs. World Sri Lanka, will organize the event, ensuring that contestants receive star-class accommodation, indulge in Sri Lankan gastronomical delights, and enjoy visits to tourism locations, along with other necessary facilities, all free of charge.

Sonia Ahmed, the founder of Pakistan’s pageant industry, stated, “This is a highly significant event for both Pakistan and Sri Lanka, as both nations require such events to alter their image on the global stage. Dr. Kapotaqkhy Chanchala is the perfect candidate for this contest, given that she will soon embark on preparations for the Miss Earth 2023 pageant in Vietnam.”

When asked about representing Pakistan in Sri Lanka among 40 other countries, Dr. Kapotaqkhy affirmed, “I am deeply honored to represent Pakistan in Sri Lanka, alongside 40 other nations. This marks my first international pageant, and I have dedicated considerable effort to prepare the right outfits, questions and answers, as well as my talent segment where I will perform to a Pakistani song. I am committed to doing my utmost in representing Pakistan on the international stage, which is greatly needed for my country.”
