Anniqa Jamal Iqbal represented Pakistan in the Miss Earth 2022 competition that was held in Philippines after the Covid break.

After successfully mounting its second virtual pageant last year, MISS EARTH 2022 is took on a Hybrid format with virtual and on-ground events in the country. Followers around the globe could look forward to an exciting production of the finals showcasing the Philippines’s breath-taking tourism destinations and, the beauty of the earth ambassadors – environmental advocates to take part in a life-changing experience.

“Although the pandemic is still upon us, we made sure that all safety and health protocols were observed in order for the delegates to have a live on-ground pageant experience in a safe environment – which is what the pageant advocates for,” expresses Ramon Monzon, President and Co-Founder of MISS EARTH.

90 MISS EARTH delegates from different countries were in the Philippines on November 12, 2022 and took on this year’s theme, “ME Loves Fauna,” to emphasize the importance of caring for animal life. The theme also gave awareness of how animal life, whether wildlife or domestic, and especially the endangered species, are essential members of the environment which must be given proper care and attention.

The virtual and on-ground events and activities were live streamed worldwide from MISS EARTH social media accounts – its official YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok and website, from October 24 towards the finals on November 27, 2022.

Talking in an exclusive interview with Daily National Courier when asked about representing Pakistan, Anniqa Iqbal stated, “ It was my first international beauty competition, and I was really overwhelmed with so much diversity as well as culture because I met girls from different countries, and I made great friends from all around the world.” Anniqa Jamal Iqbal currently holds the title of Miss Pakistan World 2022 and Miss Earth Pakistan 2022! In the year 2023 she will be seen in other competitions and will be representing Pakistan further.

Sonia Ahmed, President of Miss Pakistan World and director of Miss Earth Pakistan stated, “ Miss Earth is a great pageant to learn from, and we always send our delegates to represent Pakistan in the Miss Earth competition because they learn a lot and they contribute towards a good cause which is helping the planet. Miss Earth also expects all the contestants to be working on several projects for their advocacy for saving the planet and this really helps the contestants to understand about the reality of what our planet faces!”
