Tell us a bit about your background?

My name is Anniqa Jamal Iqbal, I am 21 years old. I am a Pakistani woman who lives in Denmark. Both my parents are Pakistani I am studying business economics in my second year. I have previously practiced karate for nine years, and therefore it has been a big part of me. I am a dedicated and ambitious woman who always fights to achieve my goals.

Why did you want to participate in Miss Pakistan World?

I want to be Miss Pakistan because I am proud of my intheritence and culture and I would love to represent Pakistan as a Danish woman who has roots from Pakistan. Every year I travel to Pakistan because I love the culture and the country. It has a very special place in my heart, and I know that I would be a good representative as well as a good role model for everyone. Over the summer I competed in “Miss Denmark” and got a top finalist spot. It was an amazing experience and I loved every second of it. I believe that I am made for beauty pageants. I learned a lot about it, but I realized that I am a Pakistani woman and not a Danish woman. I want to be Miss Pakistan because I am a woman who has a lot to offer. I am a dedicated and ambitious woman who never gives up and fights for what I want to achieve. This is a big plus for me as I am submitting this application hoping to become Miss Pakistan World.

What inspired you to take part in Miss Pakistan?

I was inspired to participate in Miss Pakistan World because of all the powerful women who are part of the organization. These are some strong women who step forward and show who they are. In addition, I have always had a wish that one day I will be able to represent Miss Pakistan in a beauty pageant. I have always wanted to make a difference for Pakistan and show that we are a modern country where women have the right to do what they want.

What change would you bring as Miss Pakistan World?

As Miss Pakistan World 2022, I want to be able to change the prejudices that exist about women competing in Miss Pakistan. Majority of Pakistanis are Muslims and some of them are very traditional and they see beauty pageants as a wrong thing. Which it isn’t. Beauty contests help to develop us, create self-confidence and self-esteem. As Miss Pakistan World, I will do everything to change the prejudice – On the basis that everyone in this world has a voice and everyone has the right to do what they want to do. Women have the right to feel beautiful, they are allowed to participate in beauty contests without anyone looking down on them. I want to change this by being a good role model while showing that I am a proud Pakistani and that we have become a modern country.
